Songstress, composer and bassist Ms. Aneesa Strings is starting off 2020 with a bang. The new decade will see Ms. Strings' debut headlining performance at the legendary Blue Note Jazz Club.
Ms. Strings is fresh off the release of her critically acclaimed sophomore album “WAYS”, and her successful sold out "Blue Note Records 80th Anniversary" Tour. Aneesa looks to share her intimate journey with the Blue Note Jazz Club through storytelling and musical adventures touching upon Jazz, Soul, Hip Hip and Funk soundscapes.
BIOGRAPHY:
Aneesa Strings is a bassist, vocalist and composer from Oakland, California. She began playing professionally and recorded her first jazz album at just 13 years old. Aneesa received her Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies at the University of Southern California in 2014, where she released her first solo album A Shift In Paradigm featuring her single “Simpin”, produced by Patrice Rushen in collaboration with SFJAZZ.
In 2016, Ms. Strings earned her Masters of Music in Jazz Studies at Michigan State University where she toured as the lead singer of the Bebop Spartans Big Band under the direction of Rodney Whitaker. Ms. Strings is fresh off the release of her 2019 critically acclaimed sophomore album “WAYS”, and has continued to tour world-wide with the likes of Duckworth, Jose James, Kandace Springs and many others.
