Sadie Dupuis, Melissa Lozada-Oliva, and Michael DeForge will be appearing in person at Rough Trade NYC, for a conversation and book signing with moderator Arti Gollapudi, supporting all of their newly released books on Friday, September 30th at 6pm.
On arrival, the purchase of relevant items will be necessary in order for them to be signed.
Sadie Dupuis is the guitarist, songwriter & singer of rock band Speedy Ortiz, as well as the producer & multi-instrumentalist behind pop project Sad13. Sadie heads the record label Wax Nine, edits its poetry journal, and has written for outlets including Spin, Tape Op, and Playboy. She holds an MFA in poetry from UMass Amherst, where she also taught writing. Mouthguard, her first book, was published in 2018 (Gramma); Cry Perfume, a second poetry collection, releases October 2022 via Black Ocean. Her most recent studio album is Sad13’s Haunted Painting (2020). She is an organizer with the Union of Musicians & Allied Workers and its local UMAW Philly.
Melissa Lozada-Oliva is a nationally recognized writer and performer. She is the author of the poetry chapbook peluda. Her poems have appeared in such publications as Breakbeat Poets Vol 4: Latinext, Redivider, Wax Nine, the Poetry Project. Lozada-Oliva has been featured in Audible, Glamour Magazine, The Boston Globe, The Kenyon Review, BBC Mundo, and other media outlets. She earned her MFA from NYU.
Michael DeForge is a cartoonist, an illustrator, and a community organizer who lives Toronto, Ontario. His most recent book is Birds of Maine.
Arti Gollapudi is a Brooklyn-based comedic writer and performer. Her work focuses on using comedy as a tool to open up dialogue about personal identity. She has been featured in HuffPost, Bustle, Vulture, Wussy Mag, Forbes, and more. Her recent solo show Lackadaisical Loser was recently put up at Joe's Pub with future dates TBA. She holds a bachelor of music from Berklee College of Music and a masters in performance studies from NYU. You can follow her work on all social media platforms @ArtiParty.
