Perfect For:
BBQ, Bar Action, Sports Action
At Cody's BBQ, we aim to please : great food, good music and TVs for sports — the kind of place where you settle in for a spell, relax and enjoy yourself... the kind of place Buffalo Bill Cody himself might have liked had he brought his Wild West show to town a hundred years ago — absent the TVs, of course. We don't know for sure whether Buffalo Bill ever visited Riverhead, back when the railroad first came through these parts, but somehow, a couple of local gals hitched their wagons to Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. The Parry sisters of First Street — daughters of the local veterinarian, who were not twins, contrary to local lore — ran off with Buffalo Bill's circus-like show and became stars of the troupe, touring the USA with the retired soldier and bison-hunter. We'd like to think if Buffalo Bill tied up his horse out back and wandered into our tavern and eatery, with the pretty Parry sisters on his arms, he'd feel right at home here — even with the TVs. He'd grab a frosty mug of American-brewed beer and dig in to some great grub cooked up in our gleaming new smoker to mouth-watering perfection by Cody's BBQ chefs trained by Grand Champion Pitmaster Konrad Haskins himself. And the colorful war hero, buffalo hunter and entertainer — who received the Congressional Medal of Honor, by the way — would sit a spell, weaving a yarn or two about the glory days on the western frontier.
