Information About this Event

City Winery NYC presents Catieosaurus: Wildly Unprepared on Sunday, July 5th, at 7:30 PM!

Meet Cate Osborn, aka Catieosaurus: TikTok phenomenon, ADHD advocate, and improbable star of the imaginary series Ships of the Northern Fleet. She's cultivated nearly 2 million followers through a deceptively simple method: Ask a question. Follow it. See where it leads. If you already know her work, you know exactly what's coming. If you're new here, welcome. You're going to learn something weird tonight.

Wildly Unprepared is not a magic show, but it's not...NOT a magic show. It's a history lecture, a comedy special, an improv experiment, and a deep dive into cultural oddities. It exists in the chaotic interstitial space between genres, which is precisely where Cate thrives. This is what happens when you give an ADHD historian with two Shakespeare degrees and expertise in neurodivergent intimacy a stage, some magic tricks, and permission to talk about whatever she wants. Which tonight might be the history of Victorian stage magic. Or medieval guilds. Or Renaissance festivals. Or why we pull rabbits from hats. Or sea shanties. The magic is real, the history is meticulously researched, and somehow it all connects. Cate weaves together forgotten women, fascinating cultural moments, and random historical footnotes, then shows how they all tell the same story about power, control, and who decides what's "correct."

If you hated history class, good. The show's real subject isn't history (or magic). It's permission. Permission to care deeply about seemingly trivial things. Permission to follow curiosity down strange paths. Permission to show up messy, enthusiastic, and unapologetically oneself. For anyone who's been told their interests don't matter or their brain works wrong, Wildly Unprepared offers something radical: a celebration of neurodivergent joy and authentic, unfiltered enthusiasm.

With audience interaction, improvisation, magic, and wild ADHD tangents, this is Cate doing what she does best. Weird? Yes. Wild? Absolutely. Unforgettable? That's the goal.

Cate Osborn (historian, magician, author, and the chaotic ADHD creator you know as Catieosaurus) has spent her career straddling two worlds: rigorous historical academia and accidental internet fame. With two Masters degrees in Shakespeare, she's performed everywhere from the Kennedy Center to Renaissance festivals, worked as a teaching artist across the country, and became one of the internet's most impactful ADHD advocates, building a community of nearly 2 million followers, amassing hundreds of millions of views, and earning international media attention by turning hyperfixation into education and authenticity into real connection. Her community doesn't just come for the ADHD education, they come for the radical honesty, the unfiltered authenticity, and the refusal to pretend she has it all figured out.

A certified sex educator, Twitch Partner, and Playboy contributor, Cate hosts the podcast Sorry I Missed This on the Understood.Org network and co-hosts Catie and Erik's Infinite Quest. She's spoken at conventions from DragonCon to GenCon about neurodivergence, accessibility, and why everyone deserves a seat at the table (gaming or otherwise). Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Cosmopolitan, GQ, VICE, and on The Today Show.

Her debut book, the ADHD Field Guide For Adults (Simon & Schuster) debuts March 3, 2026, followed by her first national tour where she's bringing her signature blend of deep research, historical rabbit holes, and the infectious curiosity that's made her an international phenomenon.
