Dirty Heads are a reggae rock band from Huntington Beach, California. Consisting of lead vocalists and founders Jared “Dirty J” Watson and Dustin “Duddy B” Bushnell (Duddy B), along with percussionist Jon Olazabal, drummer Matt Ochoa and bassist David Foral, the band was formed in the 1990s and quickly became the soundtrack to summer. Dirty Heads are known for blending genres including reggae, hip-hop, rock and alternative, and for crafting infectious hooks that have resonated around the world. Dirty Heads’ appeal is rooted in the infectious reggae grooves of songs like 2016’s “Oxygen” and 2017’s “Vacation,” which became a viral hit in 2021 as the sound behind the #VacationTransition trend on TikTok. The band’s breakthrough hit was another “song of the summer” contender: “Lay Me Down” (feat. Rome of Sublime with Rome), which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs and Rock Songs charts. In 2021, the band released The Best of Dirty Heads, a compilation album featuring Travis Barker, Aimee Interrupter of The Interrupters, Matisyahu, Train, Tech N9ne and Rome. Dirty Heads are also a touring force, and have hit the road with artists such as 311, O.A.R., Gym Class Heroes and Lupe Fiasco. From their acclaimed 2008 debut album Any Port in a Storm to 2022’s Midnight Control, Dirty Heads have become cross-genre favorites. In early 2026, the band returned with their new single “Seven Season,” a song about weathering life’s rough waters. Their ninth studio album, 7 Seas, is set to be released on June 12, 2026.
