The Jamesport Meeting House will host a command performance by Accord Treble Choir, on Sunday, November 8 at 4 p.m. The choir is a Meeting House audience favorite and their upcoming program, "There is a Seam," will enthrall both new and return guests. The selections for "There is a Seam" represent a musical exploration of the passage of seasons, the cycles of dark and light, time and nature, and the connections between past and present. The centerpiece of the program is a magnificent eight-movement musical tour of seasonal festivals, "Songs for the Wheel of the Year," which visits each solstice and equinox, and their midpoints, ranging across musical styles. The piece was composed for Accord by Matthew Harris and uses text from "Calendars," by renowned poet Annie Finch. Other songs on the program include "Rumor Mill" by Shireen Abu-Khader, "Imaginary Garden" by Marie-Claire Saindon, "River" by Joan Szymko and "Totari" by Laura Jekabsone. Tickets to this 1731 Series concert are only $20 and include a reception with the artists following the concert. Tickets may be purchased on the events page of www.jamesportmeetinghouse.org.
