Join us at Landmark on Main Street for a moving intergenerational event with local Holocaust survivor Leo Ullman as he shares his story and discusses his illustrated memoir, Leo, A Hidden Child in WWII. The memoir tells the tale of a young Jewish child who was separated from his parents and forced into hiding in Amsterdam during the Holocaust. Leo’s parents, also in hiding, had no knowledge of his whereabouts or safety. After surviving and reuniting post-war, they arrived in Port Washington in 1947.

Port Washington artist Michelle Shain illustrated his memoir and will join Mr. Ullman in conversation. The book is geared towards older children to adults and will be available for purchase and signing. Families are welcome; recommended for 5th graders and older.
