Roast suckling baby pig is tender and juicy and a variety of kebabs, served with a special Greek Salad are available. With the addition of another dining room that boasts a high ceiling, banquettes, a graceful chandelier, upholstered chairs, and a magnificent painting of Miss Crabtree and the Little Rascals, Crabtree’s is more beautiful than ever. Nostalgic photos from the “Our Gang” series decorate this Mediterranean-Continental restaurant that was named for Miss Crabtree who was the Little Rascal’s teacher. Owner Yianni Hatgidimitriou’s father emigrated to this country in the 1920’s. He returned to Greece 20 years later and told his family wonderful stories of the Little Rascals. These stories left such an impression on Yianni that he named his restaurant after them.
Yianni acquired an original poster from the series and Miss Crabtree (Rosina Lawrence) came to the restaurant and autographed it. Yianni planned a menu at Crabtree’s of dishes that are simple, quite satisfying and served by an enthusiastic and attentive staff. Monday nights in the summer are reserved for a Rottiserie BBQ out in the garden for spring baby lamb, and kebabs, and Wednesday nights feature lobsters, halibut, shrimp, and swordfish kebabs. And don’t forget Miss Crabtree’s 8oz. Burger and Darla’s chicken (named for the character). Desserts are luscious endings to the superb meal and include homemade mousse and fruit tarts along with a full variety of coffees.
